Influenza or the flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness and, in extreme cases, can lead to death. The primary treatment method for the flu is to support the immune system with plenty of rest, proper nutrition, and hydration.
